Right now I’m wondering what is quicker – editing and posting photos or instead writing a text that describes what the photos would show. Working on photos takes quite some time, too, but still I’m of the opinion that a photo can hold a thousand + words … so here are a few moments from the last months that I’ve captured when I was not working, sleeping or doing other random things.

I’ve been making vegan Nutella (chocolate hazelnut spread – contact me for the recipe if you like, it’s easy to make and difficult to stay away from :o) )
°
I’ve been cycling in and around Cologne (which isn’t always fun because of other traffic participants who give a shit about proper distance and cyclist’s lives in general; bad roads and signs aren’t of much help either).

I’ve been hiking, too …

Hiking around Maria Laach Lake
… around a volcanic caldera lake near Maria Laach (a Benedictine abbey in the volcanic Eifel region).

Maria Laach Lake
The lake ‘bubbles’, and that’s not so easy to capture, so here’a a little video I made:
Autumn is nature’s last colourful concert before winter comes and everything goes to hibernate.

Also I’ve been visiting the Frankfurt Book Fair (Frankfurter Buchmesse) and it was … enlightening.

And, of course, I’ve been doing a lot of cycling. Had a lovely time or two around the Northern Eifel woods again, with another new bike. It’s a Felt MTB, very useful and sturdy for muddy and slippery forest tracks and I love it’s colours.

I visited some lovely places in the woods like the Rur Lake below a scratched evening sky …

… and the Huertgenwald, a forest range with a huge beaver population.

At Hautes Fagnes (High Fens, Hohes Venn) …

.. and in the woods behind my house (that’s not my home though :o) ).

Bye for now. You have a lovely autumn :o) x
