I’ve spent Easter again with my brother in Fairy Land and we went to see the celebration of the end of winter with the burning of straw wheels. I’ve already written about this last year . It’s an annual tradition, kept alive for centuries. The burning wheels are a symbol for the upcoming light summer months and a blessing for the land and the harvest. It is said that the farther a wheel rolls down the hill the better the harvest will be.
This year we went again to the hill where the straw wheels are being burnt and I took some photos of the aftermath. It’s interesting to see how it all looks in daylight.
