… because that’s what it was – a string of happy happenings.
The day started with a lovely morning sky
Then I got an e-mail notifiyng me that I’ve won tickets to a Lukas Graham concert on Thursday, which is nice of course, but I’ve never heard their music until now. I had only entered the contest because a friend told me to. She has great taste in music, so I’m expecting a nice evening.
In the afternoon I went into the city and to a record store gig Glen Hansard was playing. It was quite intimate, about 50 people were there and Glen played some of his new songs and he took requests. I asked him to play “Stormbringer” and he said he’d know the song and he’d like it very much but he didn’t know how to play it.He played a Leonard Cohen song though, “Passing Through” and we all sang along. Good times :o)

Glen Hansard Record Store Gig
For one quiet song Glen asked the shop owner to switch the lights off. The neon lamps made quite a noise.
After that my friend and I went to the venue where “the real” concert took place :o) Lisa Hannigan was support act and she was marvellous as always. She played about five songs, “Little Bird”, “Passenger”, “A Sail”, “Knots” and one new song.
And Glen Hansard – I had not expected such a variety of music. He played quiet songs, rock songs, jazzy songs, great songs … he had quite a big band with strings and brass and a fabulous trombone player. Towards the end they played some Frames songs, and then “Falling Slowly” and “Blue Moon” with Lisa Hannigan and again “Passing Through”, with the audience singing along.
And that was my “one of these lucky days” – filled with music, good feelings and music :o)
