Thunderstorm Pastime

Right now I’m sitting here, faint-hearted as I am,  sh..ugar-scared to be honest, because there’s a huge thunderstorm doing its vast thing outside, with lots of lightning and noises as if someone was throwing furniture around. Scary! I remember when I was little and there was a thunderstorm, my darling grandma would unplug all electric devices and lit candles and we would sit on her sofa and wait til it was all over and the skies were clear again. Cosy comforting that was.

Tonight, I have lit candles again and am listening to the Olympics Opening Concert in Hyde Park via radio, bless the internet and Absolute Radio. The mighty Duran Duran just finished their set, it was brilliant with thunder rumbling in the background here and a huge cheering crowd in the background on the radio. Grand.

Now I’m looking out of the window, the sky is violet purple black, occasionally lit by lightning. The photo above was taken about a year ago when I was brave enough to shoot away during another massive thunderstorm. I won’t do this today, because, good reason, there is music to be listened to. x
